Compelling case

Whether convincing your boss to give you a pay rise, a prospective client to buy your services, your partner to stay at home while you go out with your friends, or the Finance Director to increase your budget (when everyone else is having theirs cut), it helps if you know how to make a compelling case.

Whilst facts are useful they are often only one part of the argument that convinces people to come round to your point of view. Just as important is how the information is presented, in what sequence, with what degree of detail, what you choose to leave out and when you make your case.
